A Year of Fundraising Success for our Regional Offices

2024 was filled with impactful CSR initiatives, with our teams going above and beyond to support local organisations within the community across the UK. Through fundraising events and volunteering countless hours, we came together to make a meaningful impact on the organisations and communities closest to us—and we’re already looking forward to continuing this support into the year ahead!

Muse places and CPW collaborate, donating to charity and teaming up for a Christmas collection for charity, The Children's Storehouse, an organisation that donate clothing for families in need.

Just before Christmas, our Solihull office organised a collection drive for local animal shelters, delivering donations to Hollytree’s Animal Rescue, Cats Protection, and Blue Cross Animal Centre. In addition, we collected toiletries, food, and clothing for Haircuts for the Homeless, a charity providing free haircuts to residents in local hostels.

And our collection efforts didn’t end there… we teamed up with Muse to gather winter coats, trainers, and socks for families in need as part of The Children’s Storehouse. It was heart-warming to see everyone rally together to support vulnerable groups, especially during the coldest months of the year which is a critical time for many.

Our annual Christmas raffle saw generous donations from team members and local businesses, raising an impressive £1,198. This amount was split equally between the British Heart Foundation and Solihull Age UK, with each organisation receiving £599. We’re truly grateful to all who donated prizes, including industry partners such as Mitsubishi Electric, Scolmore Group, Daikin UK, and many more. Staff also generously donated toys and gifts to children in refuge for Christmas through KidsOut.

On top of the incredible 1,625 hours volunteered by our regional teams throughout the year as part of our dedicated company charity days, our Leicester team have committed to an extra 200 hours in the Kirkless Council area as part of the redevelopment of Batley public realm. In October, the Leicester team assisted park rangers at Oakwell Hall and Country Park in creating a new running path. The full day of digging, laying timber, and backfilling was all worth it, as 231 park runners christened the new path in early November!

John Hauton, our Director & Charity Lead, who recently travelled overseas in his spare time to support charity efforts in The Gambia as part of New Life Children’s Centre (read the full story here), shared his thoughts on the generosity shown:

2024 was a fantastic year for our charity efforts, and I’m incredibly proud of the dedication shown by our staff. From volunteering their time to raising thousands for causes close to their hearts, they’ve gone above and beyond to support communities across the UK. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to build on this momentum, expand our initiatives, and continue working with organisations to drive positive change.

CPW takes part in the Beard Cyclathon, hosted by Beard Construction, raising funds for the Oxford University Sport & Community Partnership. CPW Director, Carl Standley, Associate, Jonathan Pollard, and Senior Design Engineer, Ed Gardiner, attended.

One of the highlights of the year was our ‘Celebrate Care’ event in September, which raised an incredible £9,378 for Marie Curie, thanks to our amazing sponsors, teams, and guests. This, combined with the £2,740 raised through our company charity days, made a significant impact.

Towards the end of the year, Carl Standley (Director), Jonathan Pollard (Associate Director) and Ed Gardiner (Senior Design Engineer) continued charitable efforts by taking part in the inaugural Beard Cyclathon, raising funds for the Oxford University Sport & Community Partnership.

Over the summer, our engineers collaborated with local construction companies as part of ‘The Big Build’ charitable programme, led by McLaren Construction’s Midlands and North division, and Opus Land. This initiative focused on upgrading the SENCO facilities at Grace Academy in Coventry, providing much-needed spaces for students with special needs. The project included the complete refurbishment and remodelling of existing classrooms, creating larger teaching spaces and a new sensory room with outdoor access. The upgrades also introduced new LED lighting, heating systems, fire alarms, and security systems, ensuring the facilities are modern, safe, and energy-efficient. This project demonstrated the power of collaboration and the positive impact of industry expertise on the local community. You can discover more of our Education projects here.

As we move into 2025, we’re excited to continue supporting more charitable causes. Our focus remains on creating a lasting impact, whether through fundraising, volunteering, or applying our expertise to community projects.

To our partners, sponsors, and everyone who contributed to our fundraising events—thank you for your generosity and support. Together, we can continue to create a brighter future for the communities we serve.
