Our Leicester Team recently partnered with Leicestershire Cares, joining forces with their Community Development Team, to help with renovation work at The Laura Centre. This local organisation plays a vital role in providing support for grieving parents coping with the loss of a child.

Last Friday, CPW had the honour of participating in the 2024 Dragon Boat Race held at The Mailbox in Birmingham. The event spanned across two days, bringing together companies from across the region, all united by a shared goal: supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Director and Leicester lead, John Hauton, has returned from The Gambia with a new perspective after volunteering with New Life Children’s Centre. John applied his 30 plus years of experience to help out with much-needed renovations to a 20-year-old school.

CPW are pleased to launch a new campaign, designed to encourage more young people to consider design engineering as a career.

Director John Hauton heads up the charity efforts at CPW, coordinating the charity working group and overseeing all fundraising activities. Charity work is a big part of John’s life, both at work and at home, making him the perfect person to lead with passion in this area.

This year CPW has dedicated two working days to charity. We closed our offices, empowering our amazing staff to make a positive impact in their local communities and support causes close to their hearts. To sweeten the deal, our Directors agreed to match the funds raised during these days.

With the help of Leicester City Council, CPW Leicester have taken on an allotment at Evington Top Allotments to grow produce for local homeless shelters and food banks.

As part of the Leicester City Council Framework, CPW has committed to achieving a set of CSR goals for each year.

This year, CPW have decided to dedicate two working days to charity, closing all our offices to give our staff the chance to do good in their local communities and support causes that matter to them.

CPW has joined forces with Leicestershire Cares to offer work experience as part of their VIP project. Leicester Director John Hauton took the young participant through what she could expect from a career in MEP engineering.

Leroy Jeffrey has spent over 5 years working to help underprivileged school children in his hometown of St Thomas in Jamaica, by refurbishing laptops and donating them to schools and families.

“For me, education is a right, not a privilege, and so I am eager to do all I can to help aid learning in underprivileged environments. Providing adequate learning materials for children from poorer backgrounds will help them to study more effectively and achieve better results.”
